This month's Lincoln charities are winterization items (clothing) and Habitat for Humanity.
With winter starting to approach, many of the less fortunate are going to be in need of coats, sweaters, blankets, and other warm type items. Donations can be made to the domain staff, or any shelter type charity that will accept said items. Remember to get proof of the donation for prestige reporting purposes.
Also, there are several projects going on for Habitat for Humanity. The specific one looked at in Lincoln works on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 8:30 am until 4 pm. If you have no experience building a house, they will give you training on site. If you still think you'll do more harm than good, there are other services on site, such as preparing meals for the workers. All of it is for a good cause, and all of it will be appreciated by the new home's inhabitant. Oh, and there's prestige involved. This one requires a short application (for insurance's sake) but it is painless and available through Steph if you are interested. There is no set day for us to do this as a group (yet), so any day you wish to participate counts.
