Very few storytellers have explored the Predator's Taint because it is somewhat difficult to incorporate into game. For dramatic effect the Predator's Taint is usually suspended for scenarios where Vampires expect each other. What are your thoughts on the following? :
1) Shape of the Beast (Protean 4) allows a Kindred to take the form of a predatory animal... usually a bat or a wolf. Can another Kindred detect that a vampire using Shape of the Beast is a Kindred by means of the Predator's Taint?
2.) Several Kindred have Mask of Tranquility (Obfuscate 2) which allows them to hide their Predator's Taint from other Kindred. This makes it so they do not provoke Fear or Anger Frenzy from the Predator's Taint (but are themselves still subject to it). Can that Kindred de-activate Mask of Tranquility to cause any witnessing vampires to test for Predator's Taint if they have not already encountered the Masked vampire's beast?

Good questions, Luke.
1) I'm not sure what the official ruling on this mechanic is, to be honest. It would seem, to my mind at least, that Predators' taint would be unaffected by the shape the Kindred takes. However, unless the shapechanged Kindred was the only being around, pinpointing exactly which animal was exuding Predators' Taint would be nigh impossible.
2) It's certainly an unexpected display of the beast, isn't it? If the Kindred in question have never encountered said beast, let the pandemonium begin!
