So there I was visiting the mages of Lawrence, KS. When I happened upon another one of these spider nests. These creature shave been dubbed the Brood so to speak which is misnomer to be sure...
These things eat Mana. I witnessed the total destruction of what they leave behind dead Hallows. Also these things act in ways more similar to bees and ants than spiders. They have hive collective workings as well. The most disturbing thing i Have found is they attack people entering the cranium and puppeteer them back to there nests. Then the host is cocooned and then the body is eaten, and eggs are laid in the dead body. My belief is they use humans for its mana qualities as well. These things are Cryptids, not fully spirits, but they exhibit qualities of spirits but have the ability to stay in the material plane for some time.
An interesting note as well is artifacts that are in the forms of sceptres have been found in area where these creatures have been as well.
I when down there meditated on the quandry of these creatures and found 3 images of import.
1) A crown covered in webs.
2) The sounds of snakes hissing and these creatures fleeing in terror..
3) Images of Atlantean Runes but they were more spider-like in shape and form.. perhaps the True Name of these things perhaps.
Through some of research I have come across the name Archane, but this is an African goddess not a South American one which has been the often precept of those whom have encountered these things before.
Although with the knowledge of history, I am well aware of three things that might answer this quandary:
1) An East to West current off the Ivory coast of Africa reaches the coast of Eastern Amazonian coastline
2) Spiders often are the nightmares of many cultures, webs being traps. That these creatures have been said to enter the Dreamtime wholly, maybe some nightmare quality to these things.
3) Even Sleeper scientists believe South America may have been in fact the site of Atlantis as described by Homer.. which we know to be false, but belief can man much for Sleepers.. spirits feed off belief and ideas as well as emotions.
Suggestions for others who encounter these:
Collect Lore on serpent spirits. They exist in almost every culture worldwide, but there is a specific one that they fear. Find it and you find these things Bane.
These things act in a Hive collective, perhaps they serve a hierarchy of spirits like a queen or something of that nature.
