Tim as Mr. DC et al,
Ok, so I did some phone calls on availability. And wow, after 12 hotels and meeting halls one was able to give me a straight answer on price quotes and it was available.
Let me say one thing. December busy month for events. I found four places that were available but no price quotes. the Embassy suites may have had a cancellation that day, but it was up in the air.
Cornhusker Marriott said December 22nd was the only Saturday available in December, but do not despair I may have found a site.
The Quality Inn Airport. Located at I-80 and Cornhusker Highway, which is 1/2 a mile to 3/4 a mile from the Lincoln Airport..( you can't walk there easily from the airport, but it is possible in a pinch..)
The y quoted they had 2 rooms available which could be partitioned. These 2 rooms equaled 1,500 square feet in size, and if we had enough money or needed more space there was a third room available.
The price quote for the 1,500 was: $250 dollars
I also got a group rate for roughly an estimated 15 rooms to be used at : $54 a room/night
They also had some catering options at 5 PM for our break if we wanted it and also had a bar and grille on site but if over 15 people used that for food the price would be higher for menu due to having more staff.
There is a food court across cornhusker highway, and I think this hotel has a heated pool indoors but I can't remember..
But yes, there is a place that sells food and booze in the hotel.
If this works for our DC and our VSTs as well as our visitors I can call and get it locked for us.. I don't know about down payments or what/.. but thsi might be our best option on this short notice.

That sounds wonderful. The only downside right now is as of last check we have about $175 worth of funding. Now there are several options to do this, but somehow we'd have to make sure to have the money up front.
If you could contact Steph and have her look at it with you, then give me a determination as to whether or not it looks like a good site, then I can go ahead and make the money happen. It may tap us out though so be warned. If we need more, that can be available, so let me know.
I'll be home next week, so hopefully we can finalize by then, but tell me if we need to finalize before then.

Backup plan if we move quickly is that we get Willard Community Center for 50 dollars, but there is nothing around it for food or room and board as it is smack in the middle of a residential neighborhood.
The hotel is best option for food and lodging as people can stay there the day before on Friday if weather takes a turns for the worse, they can be there for the event beforehand. Also my suggestion would be charge a 5 dollar per event fee making it 10 dollars for the whole day.
After this Friday I can pony up 20 dollars. I suggest Tim that we take voluntary donations form those who are willing to donate. to shore up the cost, that way no one person pays for it all.

Oh and last thought.. Willard is smaller than 1500 square feet so if we are expecting high turn out, then yeah it won't do. But if less than 50 all total it might be the better option.

Yes, official site, and thank you for the work you did on it. It's good to see the motivation.
There will be an official announcement soon about this.

Hey Tim,
I'm glad to help.
Would it be okay to get that announcement out before Monday, if possible so I can work on some fliers, and maybe we can draw more locals into this event and get things rolling for a membership drive as well getting more interested in Lincoln games would be cool.
