All,
One of the tenants of the Code of Conduct is "Be Courteous of Others". I don't know what anyone else's definition of that is, but to me it means that we remember that everyone we play with is a person, with feelings, opinions, and ideas. It means to me that no matter how bad things get, we will COMMUNICATE to each other as if they are people, we will not step on people's toes, and we will make every effort to remember that they paid the same $20 a year, they enjoy the same club, and they want to play in and storytell in games that are going to be fun, without the drama that comes when we are no longer courteous of each other, respectful of each others feelings, or considerate of what our actions can cause.
Thus, when someone is involved in something you want to do, ICly or OOCly, talk to them. I'd like to think of us all as friends, but at the very least we are all adults and we should act like it.
Adults confront their problems head on, instead of trying to subvert them.
Adults don't fall into he said she said.
Adults don't complain for something to be done about a problem, then complain about the solution (especially if they didn't offer one).
Adults take responsibility for that which is their responsibility (to include their actions).
Adults talk.
I'm not going to call out any specific instances here, and no one thing should be pointed at within this message. This is a general statement. If you see this stuff going on, stop it. If you are part of this stuff going on, take a step back and act as an adult. We all get our feelings hurt by things, we all get a little defensive, but it's in those moments that we define who we are. Will you snipe back, or will you confront the problem and handle it in a respectful and courteous manner?
I'm available via e-mail for discussion on most any topic you need in order to get us back where we should be. I'll be back in a couple weeks for face to face.
