First off, I want to say that I *DO* appreciate you all coming down for game. I know that sometimes it is not the easiest thing for people from Omaha to make it, and I absolutely enjoy role playing with the lot of you. I had a blast at game on Saturday, even if I wasn't able to play the character that I was itchin' to play (which can always happen at a later time).
That being said...some not-so-niceties.....
I feel somewhat forced to enforce some new house rules if I am to continue to hold games at my house.
1. Computer from this point on is off limits. Too many people have taken advantage of it, hopping on whenever they like to check whatever email and listen to my music. It has started screwing up my passwords that I keep on my email sites, since I have to re-set each one after games. I know this may be somewhat bothersome to the Story Tellers who may have things online that they want to look up...but in all honesty, you should have that stuff done before game, not getting it done *at* game.
2. Coaster: (noun): A small mat or plate placed under a vessel to protect a tabletop or other surface beneath. Car: (noun): An automobile. There is a difference, and though I may have a nice dent in the side of my car, it is still *MY CAR* and NOT a coaster! And before anyone even thinks "Oh, but a paper cup isn't going to harm the paint"....THAT'S NOT THE FREAKIN' POINT!! The point is respect for other people's property. Ask Don and Angel about why they are no longer holding games at their house. I'm sure you'll understand after that.
3. No more going out the back door in the kitchen. 3 times I found each of my cats trapped in that storage area. It is not air conditioned, dirty, and has all manor of bugs and spiders...NOT the place I want my cats.
These rules are now NON-NEGOTIABLE!!! The first person to argue the points with me will not be welcome over here any further. If your thoughts aren't "I can respect that, and will do as he requests"..then you have no business being over here. I am beyond the point of caring if you hate me for that statement. THESE ARE MY THINGS, MY PETS AND MY HOUSE...That should be enough to garner some respect for each while you are here. Keep in mind, too, that I'm not the only one that lives here. My room mate is nice enough to allow me to offer up the place for games. And though she hasn't reached the point of saying "no more", she has expressed the fact that she sometimes feels like she is in the way..in her *own home*. Not good.
I am truly sorry that it has reached this point, but it seems to be becoming a recurring theme. I am well aware that we have lost *many* game sites for the *very same reasons*. Once again, I love hosting games. I truly enjoy seeing my friends and watching them have fun. Too many liberties have been taken, however...and it stops now.
