Ok so I rented Pan's Labyrinth on DVD and thought it was great. The blending of the real world history of the Fascist times in Spain and the fantasy world reminded me a lot of what I felt a good dark Changeling game should be like.
If Changeling: The Lost is similar in flavor to this film.. I might just be convinced in buying the book and maybe playing...
This coming form a guy who disliked the Dreaming... as he has never played a good LARP game in that particular Venue..

Dude,
Pan's Labyrinth was a perfect example of a dark and twisted time with changeling. Now while I can stress in saying that we can be close to that, I can honestly say that its a kick ass movie and will probably be a inspuration for changeling the lost. Mostly cause I'm itching to get the book so I can look over a few things and maybe.. JUST maybe make something. Anyway.. anyone elses thoughts?

Its just that I'm hoping Changeling: The Lost has more to offer me than the Dreaming did.. I like what I saw on paper but I never liked how it was played. I have never gone to a good LARP yet.. I'm hoping for that to change with a setting change.
I played a good tabletop.. that we ran for three sessions.. I liked spending all my Background points on Chimerical Companion and Chimerical Treasure. It was great!
It's just personal opinion and I am being optimistic about there being a drastic change from what I have seen before.
If it looks worth while, I got some non-fiction sources that might be helpful for local history. The Arapahoe Nation have some great stories surrounding a burial cairn that is Northwest of Omaha and it looks like a turtle from the air...

It was right after I saw that movie in the theatres that I decided to run a dark changeling LARP based loosely on the world of Laurel K Hamilton's books...the fae books, anyway. It was soooo much fun to write up and work on and everyone came up with these really interesting character concepts, but in the end I only ran one session. I think the ooc junk between the players got the better of me and sapped my motivation. If Changeling: the Lost looks promising, I might even throw my hat in to help run it. I LOOOOOOOVE dark fae, but I HAAAAAAATE fluffy bunny faeries. When's it supposed to hit the shelves anyway??

Ling doesn't really need fantasy to survive. I believe that they were speaking of the presence of the darkness that is in the ling venue or should be in. It was a very beautful movie. I went and saw it with Chelle, Ki-Ki, Leanne, and Aaron. *nods*
Changeling: The Lost is Thursday 16 August, 2007 !!! Im so going to buy that book and worship it.
