"Average Joe" is the Awakened you'd never expect. He is a middle class, white male between the ages of 19 and 27. The music that he listens to is mainstream. The clothes he wears are 1 - 2 years behind the trend. He's average build and average height. Sandy blonde hair. Blue eyes. He blends into a crowd.
Average Joe has the following stats:
Intelligence 2, Wits 2, Resolve 2
Strength 2, Dexterity 2, Stamina 2
Presence 2, Manipulation 2, Composure 2
He has built up his repertoire to have some knowledge of every skill from Academics to Weaponry. There and back again. Effectively a 1 in everything.
So he's coming home from his blue collar job one day and he notices an Atlantean sigil worked into an advertisement. Curious, he puts up a Mage Sight and scrutinizes it.
If Average Joe is in a LARP go to page 3.
If Average Joe is in a Table Top Game go to page 4.
Page 3.
Average Joe is in a LARP
Draw: Intelligence + Occult (3)
Average Joe needs a 7 or better to get a single success.
His odds are... 40%
Joe is below average at Scrutinizing.
Page 4
Average Joe is in a Table Top Game
Roll: Intelligence + Occult (3)
Average Joe needs a single 8, 9, or 10 out of three dice.
His odds are... 65.7%
Joe is above average at Scrutinizing.
Average Joe decides he is going to update his character sheet to reflect his abilities in LARP and his abilities in TT.
He adds 1 point to his Intelligence (cost of 15 XP)
Average Joe now has a 50% chance to scrutinize that same message. Still not there, Joe.
Joe adds another point to Occult. (cost 6 XP)
That puts Joe at a 60% chance. Close enough.
The next time Average Joe attempts to scrutinize, he'll be average again.
Unfortunately, ALL of Average Joe's abilities have been hampered by converting to a LARP. In order to get the same bang for his buck he has to increase all of his attributes by 1 and each of his abilities by 1.
Cost: 15 per Attribute
Total Attribute Cost: 135
Cost: 6 per Ability
Total Ability Cost: 144
Grand Total: 279 Experience Points
(That's 55.8 Games @ 5 XP each)
Keep in mind that even after spending all of this XP, Average Joe is going to be at a net loss of: -5.7% on ALL rolls based off of his odds in TT.
