Experience
-----------------
Camarilla Storyteller Experience - CST FL-019 November '98 to January '00, VST Changeling and Mage FL-019 '01 to '03, Lead Mage ST and Vampire (Cam/Anarch and Sabbat) Narrator for White Sands Conclave '01 and '02, SERE Narrator in '02, ICC Narrator in '03
Non-Camarilla Storyteller Experience - Numerous Table Top and Larp Games From 1996 to present. Held several positions in the LRA (an all but failed attempt to keep the OWoD alive in a national organization) including six months as NST. My greatest experiences STing came in '01-'02 as one of the joint ST's for a game calling itself simply 'Conundrum'. This was an NC-17 version of the World of Darkness using the setting of Vampire the Masquerade with a splash of home brewed material. We experimented with near professional quality make-up and video effects (our Sabbat NPC's had a nasty tendency of sending Videotapes to the Camarilla's Elysium) and addressed many adult themes that are often overlooked in a WoD game. Many of our players were involved in local theater and were employed by Universal Studios Orlando as Actors and SFX artists. One of the highlights of this game for me was the feeling of genuine terror that several of our players expressed at the end of some of our more gruesome tales. If you are ever feeling sadistic, ask me for details.
Non-Gaming Experience - Member of the International Thespian Society from 1997-1999. Was involved in local theater from 1998 to 2002 with set designing, costuming, and acting experience. Bookkeeping and business Management experience. This last part may sound a bit absurd, but I believe that in order to run exceptional games (Especially within the Camarilla) they must treated as a business, and the players as customers. If your customers are not satisfied, then why would they want to return to your establishment?
Why would I be good to run this Venue ?
-----------------------------------------------------------
First and foremost, I will strive to maintain a professional and friendly attitude and serve as a role model for my fellow Camarilla Members. I wish to encourage a mature and responsible environment where the Story comes first, and players leave each game feeling satisfied with what has occurred and excited to see what happens next. I wish to really push us to 'the next level' of quality within our local games. I want us to earn a reputation as being the best Requiem game in the North Central Region, and for our players to be respected as some of the most talented role players within the Camarilla. Most Importantly though, I want our players to have fun and have stories they can share with one another, and other gamers, for years to come.
My Vision for the Requiem Venue
--------------------------------------------------
Back to Basics - My first goal will be to work with the DST to establish and flesh out a unique and vibrant history for our City and its surroundings. I understand that many things are already 'out there' and I would like to bring them all together into one cohesive back story. History is an important thing in any game, but is especially important in Requiem with its long lived predators. I intend to host several Role playing and Costuming side sessions so that players can share tips about such things with one another in order to strengthen our Domain as a whole. I would like to establish a 'Decorating Committee' who will be responsible for helping the DC acquire game Sites and helping the ST decorate them so that they lend to the theme and mood for each game session. I will tap players to play NPC's so that they can experience the story from another angle and help enhance the mood for their compatriots. Stories may be presented in several different Chapters or Acts, each with a separate theme and mood.
Themes - The themes of the Stories I will run over the next year will be a bit darker, and a bit more primal. They will include, but are not limited to: Isolation, Predator and Prey, Domain, The Definition of Power, and Savagery. One thing that is certain, all stories will emphasize the selfish and predatory nature of the Damned Creatures that call themselves Kindred. Mood will vary along with theme.
VSS - I will be writing a new VSS for our Game. I intend to take bits and pieces from our current VSS however the end product will be drastically different, hence the word 'new' and not 'revising'.
Thank you for taking the time to read this application. I look forward to answering any and all questions, and most importantly I look forward to working with all of you over the next year to make our game that much better.
