I took some time tonight (and I FINALLY found the old VST reports that AJ did to confirm some things in Lincoln's history) and have written up a very basic history of the kindred history of Lincoln. Look it over, tell me what you think-if you want to see something added or deleated.
Lincoln:
1854-A young Ventrue Invictus, Lord Kirill Kuznetsov, followed a Russian family along the Oregon Trail into Nebraska shortly after the territory had been named Nebraska Territory.
1856
Kirill helped support the founding of the village of Lancaster through personal funds, political ties and his investment with the Salt Basin but due to a sparse population kept to his small haven in the nearby town of Omaha for a few years before returning to Russia. When the decision was made to change the cities name to Lincoln and moving the state capital, he stood behind it.
1869
Kirill returns to Lincoln, along with Lady Issabella Lennox, Sir Viktor Ellis, Ms. Selma Steele, and Sir Jacob Reynolds McKennsie and is pleased with the progress of the city and his investments.
1870-1902
Kirill and his court grow to include the following kindred Nathaniel Masters, Arkell Bradenberg, Jada Knightly, Robyn Tristdall, Kyran Morland, Sarena Drummel, Lanny Stafford, Tatton Carmichael, and Tillie Kostovich. They invested in the Lincoln Gas Light Company, Lincoln Telephone Exchange, the Burlington and Missouri River Railroad and held membership on the Board of Trade at its organization in 1880. The Lancea Sanctum at the time Tatton Carmichael, held midnight mass at St. Paul M.E. Church
1902-2005
Over the years, Kirill and his hand-picked court and close advisors began to hold Lincoln in a feudal monarchy with an iron fist, slow and subtle at first they played the Danse and avoided resistance until everyone just accepted things as “this is how they always were”. Feeding was restricted by covenant and those holding no allegiance were always thrown to the outskirts, opposite end of town to the Carthians. When WWI and WWII happened it was evident that what happened in the Soviet Union reflected the mood of those in charge. Upholding the Masquerade was kept without question and without room for interpretation or forgiveness and even the slightest transgression was met with force. Domains were handed out by the prince himself and if a kindred would be caught trespassing or feeding within a domain that was not their own or not invited into the first warning was being staked for three nights and forced to drink the blood of a member of the court, second offense was staking for a lunar cycle and forced to drink the blood of same court member as before, third offense was final death by the hand of the Archon. Right of Progeny was stripped and any special circumstances were pre-arranged and heavily fined in the currency of boons, anyone caught going outside to create another and then returning to the city marked both sire and childe for death and during this time he held no less than a dozen such paired executions so that the local populace would remember his decrees. Amaranth was strictly forbidden and if found guilty, the accused faced a public execution and all lands, properties and investments were relinquished and held by the court.
2005-2006 (First game was May/June 2005)
“The Blood Cult” a group of mortals pretending to be vampires started crossing the line when deaths happened that appeared to be “vampiric” in nature in June of 2005. The court of “Kuznetsov the Kruel” as was named by the rebel faction beginning to oppose the current court, cared less as they ignorantly saw this problem as beneath them and let the commoners deal with it. Problems escalated as the killings became more frequent and gruesome and a mandatory curfew was put into place just after sunset, causing difficulties for all the local kindred not of the court. Those kindred banded together under the leadership of Carthian President Montgomery Cross of the Nosferatu clan to strike at the Kuznetsov court and stop the cult before it could get worse, but as things always do-it was worse before it got better. Over the next eight months Montgomery Cross led Valerie Denton, Tom Archer, Anthony Williams, Anna NicQuinn, Jasmine O’Mer, Philippe Masters and Alexandria Ashton to overcome resistance and take back the city. Through months of investigation, interrogation and recon they discovered that the prince, Kirill Kuznetsov, had been dominated and conditioned by his own court to overlook the problems with the cult while his own advisors and court members were treating the mortals as puppets behind the scenes to their own end. It resulted in the death of the most of the old court with outside assistance from Omaha and Lamar and a newcomer Timothy McCain but we lost Valerie Denton and Montgomery Cross along the way and the whereabouts of Jasmine O’Mer and Philippe Masters unknown.
2006-Present
Shortly after the fall of the Blood Cult, Jungen Von Weiss and the removal of “Timmy” from office a decision had to be made. The remaining kindred of Lincoln were too few to hold a city on their own after DeBellereive tried to sell them out for $500,000.00 that they agreed to form under the rule of the new Czar Derrick Spectre.
