I was having a discussion not too long ago involving how exactly the Diablerist court incident could have taken place.
The conversation was centered around the Blood Potency that would be necessary to rouse the other vampires from torpor.
Today I was refreshing my knowledge of the Requiem:MET system and came across this passage:
Obviously the Blood Potency for waking a torpid Kindred does not apply to staking, only to those who voluntarily entered Torpor or those who went into Torpor through damage. [If the last box is marked by Lethal damage]
Sooooo... removing the stake from a Kindred who was put into Torpor by the actual staking and not from massive damage... is as simple as removing the stake.

This is true, however, as I understand it, the whole deal behind the diablerist court was that they were not staked, but torpid due to damage.
Can we assume also that if the staking actually does enough damage to send a body to torpor in addition to transfixing the heart that the body will need to be revived by blood, even if the stake is removed?

I can believe in that one sick and twisted way as possible. Think about it, best assurance to make sure the screw ball doesn't get up, then you just make sure he torps when you shove the stake in. hmmmm, ideas begin to round in my skull, but its an honest good question.

I don't know what the exact details were behind that particular situation. I just wanted to clarify that the MET rules do specify a difference between being torpored from damage, being torpored from a stake, and voluntary torpor.
If the stake did the final damage both torpor rules (staking + mass damage) would apply.

The diaberlist werent staked, that was a mistake the player made. They were torpored and drained, then given blood and woken up.

Jessye's right...that's where the character messed up and why the common joke is to remind someone delivering bodies to make sure they are staked. One known diablerist and member of the cult was given blood because another character is/was a bit nuts (ok understatement there) and caused a chain reaction that ended in Council Bluffs and friction between the local Ordo and Invictus until the truth was found out.
