Fellow Kindred,
Hmmm something that stirs the emotions of those, but really lets take a look at this from a completely intellectual and unbiased opinion (because everyone knows that I am completely unbiased) =)

I am sure by now all know of the events that came to pass on the first of July. Many of us assembled at a gathering held upon Elysium grounds. We received a handful of dignitaries including a visiting Prince and Seneschal as well as a ranking member of the Sanctified. Elysium was first breached by younger Kindred who thought it prudent to exercise their Dark Gifts upon the grounds. The 'Keeper' was lacking when it came to dealing with this problem.

Define Lacking, Sorry the term is just too subjective to be used properly. Now you could have said, “Didn’t punish them according to tradition, OR used a much lesser degree of punishment than others have received.” But lacking is much to subjective.
As for breaking Elysium rules state no kindred shall harm another within the bounds of Elysium according to tradition. As such in grand events it takes a great act of will to do so. Yet by that merit does that include the ability to hide ones self. If so I really believe we should have a codified “LAWS OF ELYSIUM STATEMENT” that give crimes and punishments.
But back to our regularly schedualed statement.

Later in the evening we discovered that the 'Bartender' at this place was not in the employ of our 'Keeper'. As he made his escape through the back door I pursued him and rectified the breach that he constituted, but not before I had to deal with several of his allies: Hunters. I know several of us suffered assault at the hands of these hunters that night, and last I had heard not all of our fellow Kindred were accounted for.

Ouch, Well I must applaude Lord Alder Grim on this one. For his part he saved countless Kindred from a very dangerous masquerade breech. But still with Kindred there talking as if the masquerade was not in any threat it was believed that all employes there were under the ghouling or thrilling of Ms Angelina. Seems like that was a dangerous oversight.

When I finally caught up with the rest of our Society (I myself having trekked through some horrid places to ensure the deaths of those who attacked us) I decided to speak with our 'Keeper'. She became indignant when I addressed the attack upon us and the presence of a hunter in our midst. She stated that she had no control over Elysium and before our argument escalated further I requested that Dame NicQuinn intercede. Our argument continued and Dame NicQuinn graciously listened to both sides and informed us that she would take these complaints to other authorities within our Domain. I thanked Dame NicQuinn and when I began to state that I would not be attending any Elysium that our 'Keeper' was responsible for and I would advise all Kindred to do the same, I was attacked by our 'Keeper'. She foolishly attempted to stake me with a shoe, possibly with the intent of ending my existence. I grabbed her so that she could take no further action against me, and still she persisted in her attempt. Dame NicQuinn stepped in and called for us to stop. Because of the great respect I hold for our Cities Speaker I did not avenge my honor at that time.

The Keeper stated the exact words that “She had no control over Elysium” I find that odd personally. Though the attack was not called for on Elysium grounds it does prove that high heels can be dangerous, and not just in Sir Charles Savages Hands. And I truly believe Dame NicQuinn did an amazing job in ordering the bloodshed on Elysium grounds coming to a halt.

Later our 'Keeper' asked to be removed from her position (in my eyes attempting to flee the post before her incompetence could be addressed further) and Dame NicQuinn stated that this Lesser Kindred owed myself a Major boon for the attack upon my personage.

Well in light of what has been stated maybe she truly felt she was not best for the job anymore and decided to leave. But those are all speculations.

Like many of you though I am a creature of honor and still feel that our City and my Personage was tarnished by these actions. What must our visiting Dignitaries have thought.....

In the words of Prince Forsythe “It’s kinda like my city except I can help with the problems instead of them causing me headaches”

In the past there were ways to deal with such assaults upon ones honor, and it is for this reason that I write this letter. I seek justice. I am willing to forgo the Major Boon that this Lesser Kindred owes me under one condition: She meets me in Monomancy, a personal duel to satisfy this loss of face. In the past it was believed that God would side with the Righteous party and ensure their victory. If this Sanctified Kindred believes as much she should have no reason to refuse my request.

Wow the great Alder is so upset at this “lesser” Kindred that he truly feels the nessesity of destroying it. Truly this kindred MUST indeed be a “lesser” because the Great Alder felt the nessesity of having to write this page long post on the Internet about her and how he has to personally end her requiem. Just add 2+2

Lets get to that response

I will not be intimidated by a new member of this city who has seen fit to assail several members of the Second Estate of this city. Last evening he stated that he would stand by what Dame NicQuinn decided would be a decent punishment. She made her ruling, and thus I stand by what she said. It is not a matter of my lost honor, I did what was asked of me and he agreed that the Major boon would be enough. This call for Monomancy breaks his word to me and more importantly Dame NicQuinn.

While he does awnser that question in his next post on the internet tought decisions maybe I should put a poll and ask did Lord Alder Grim break his word by this, Please click yes or no.

If he chooses to break his word, and then I will meet him...I am not afraid, and I am not going to be itimidated by this, I can make my sacrafices and meet the consequences of my actions. The question not is: will the gentleman in question be willing to meet the consequences of his actions? and does he really think it is honorable to go back on his word, when it was given in public view of Dame NicQuinn, the Sanctified, as well as the visiting dignataries?

I applaud Angelina on this as she states not only her courage to meet the challenges of the man but also the consequences of her actions. Some pettier Kindred would probably… never mind I may use that on other people later. I am a bit petty afterall.

Those who know me, and those who were there to witness said know that I did not step down to flee the position before it could be taken away, I did so because it was the right thing to do. When I took the position, I said I would do that best I could...last night was proof that it was not enough. That my frequent trips out of town for Coventnant business and training were a distraction that should not have been allowed. I stepped down because I tarnished the position and wished to put things right again between the Invictus and the Lancea Sanctum of this city.

You wish for a codified set of laws for Tradition? Tradition is something that civilized kindred with a good sense of decency about them realize and understand. Some things just aren't right. I go to an Elysium to feel at peace, as the Roman roots of the word would show. It is a place where I feel neither threatened nor at odds, even while in the presence of predators. So the statement that the laws state none are to be harmed is untrue at best. And even so, "harmed" can have a broad definition. Instead of nitpicking at what it means, how about we stick to the spirit of the Tradition...that Elysium was meant as a place for us to come together and not be at each other's throats, not provoke one another, and above all, where we can become enlightened in the presence of others.

Punishments as well are mine to determine, being the Czar and all.

This has not gone unnoticed, by any stretch. I may be away in meditation and learning, but I am still here, and at a time when we are assailed by hunters and the like, it's a great comfort to see that we are at each other's throats like this. To my next keeper of elysium, be aware that you will be held responsible for what happens there. If you can't keep the elysium, it will be your disgrace to bear, and publicly. That said, security is everyone's responsibility. One slip should not destroy what has been for thousands of years. I trust you ALL to be mindful of this. The Masquerade is first and foremost amongst the Traditions instilled in us as neonates. It is for fools that we take the threat less seriously because it takes more than a bullet to stop us now. If such simple things are too much for the immortal undead, then perhaps we should save the trouble for the other kindred and give you a death much more merciful than what the hunters would give.

Do not lose sight of what you seek. Simply realize that we cannot make it alone.

Excellent, and Thank you for your statement on that. But by this I cannot tell if hiding in the shadows would be a breech unless of course you have dangerous evil secrets you didnt want uncovered but no one in Elysium has those right?

On all accounts agreed, There are much better avenues to take your anger and spitefulness at others perhaps a poem would work, I wonder were Mr McCambell is I here he is a poet. The Masquerade is of course a very serious issue that even I would never downplay I truely hope that we will never runm into a breech or that slight hunter problem will turn out much worse as the army comes in to nuke the city next time.

As the title states it is a matter of honor, something you are perhaps unfamiliar with? As you claim to be a 'Gentleman' I suspect the concept is not completely foreign to you.

Firstly it would seem that Sarcasm would be lost on our my dear Lord Alder Grim, shame. so I must slightly lower myself to his level for this, I was joking on the dangerous evil secrets. I'm sorry the level of speaking was too complex for you. Perhaps when your so close to the beast it muddles your head. Calm down relax and try again.

As for Espionage, amazing that you got the word out, It is only a crime if you are caught otherwise I believe its what kindred do in their daily lives to gain those 'dangerous evil secrets' that any kindred worthy of the name would posses. Now if it is a crime to use the power of hiding ones self I am all for it, but by the Princes words I do not see the use of hiding ones self an infraction but thats his and the Master of Elysiums decision, not yours by his own words, and I know for certian Lord Alder Grim would never attempt to go beyond his betters.

Ahh this explains where most of the larger words are stemming from, excellent. I am fully aware of honor, and I am glad to know you believe yourself capable of it. So indeed it must be honorable for an Alder of over 250+ years to desire to destroy a neonate.

Remember an honorable duel is only honorable when both parties are roughly equal. So either Lord Alder Grim you believe Angelina is your equal on the battlefield, or that entire concept of honor is much more fleeting than you let on.

Of course I always watch how I address my betters. I did not contradict him at all. I asked for clarification, made a statement that it could have been much worse, and complelty agreed with him. In fact all in all I was completly respectful of the Czar.

Finally I am not Invictus, I am a member of the Carthian Movement. So the idea that the Invictus must be respected is a grand ideal and I will believe that, I will believe that from the Sheriff, Sir Marcus Ryker, and never once let anything differ and has been pretty clear and impartial as a Sheriff no one can deny the respect that should earn. I respect Dame NicQuinn, she is an honorable lady that seen fit to take time out of her requiem to speak and tell the tales of our city, she watches the city of Lincoln closly so nothing of ill would happen to those that reside there. I respect greatly the Czar for he has seen fit to allow me into his city, I respect him for he did not judge based off of covenant and deny me entrance, I respect him because he cares for his city and the kindred like any good man of responsibility should. I respect the Czar because he has a vision and a dream and is consitantly working towards betterment of this city and the Kindred within it. And Lastly I respect the Czar because he saw a little game and decided to play instead of outright belittling, truely the smallest things ingrain on your dead heart. Now that you know this I assume with your vast array of powers you are obviously going to try and use the sight to see him I do hope you succeed, but now also realize this person has been watching you, listening to you, reading your secrets knowing the places you sleep, your slaves and such.... how safe is that place you sleep...
